Smart Business Action Team
The SmartBusiness Action Team is comprised of senior-level, decision-capable individuals at over 30 organizations who connect HRM businesses to programs, funding and resources. The SmartBusiness team also connects to over 100 additional organizations for specialized support.
International Economic Partnerships — Portsmouth, England
Halifax and Portsmouth, England have an international "sister city" economic partnership focused on business growth, naval and port collaboration, tourism, and sustainability. Halifax Partnership and Portsmouth hosted virtual trade events with partners throughout the year to support ongoing business and economic development between our regions.
International Economic Partnerships — Scottish Trade Mission
Halifax Partnership supports international trade and investment opportunities by facilitating connections between global businesses and the local ecosystem. In March, we welcomed a Scottish delegation, delivered in partnership with the West Highland Chamber of Commerce.
Employer Feedback Channels Program
Halifax Partnership's Labour Market team collaborates with national partners in nine regions to gather and elevate employer feedback to IRCC, ensuring that business perspectives inform immigration policy and program design.
Consider Canada Cities Alliance (CCCA)
The CCCA brings 14 of Canada's leading municipal regions together to advance opportunities for job creation, increased investment and trade, and greater economic growth and impact.
National Connector Program
Halifax Partnership proudly leads the National Connector Program (NCP), supported by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, which partners with communities across Canada to strengthen immigrant retention and foster more welcoming and inclusive communities.
Global Affairs Canada
Our Business Attraction team participated in the Global Affairs Canada roadshow to London and Zurich in November 2025, to develop business and economic opportunities in Halifax's key sectors, particularly clean energy and technology.
World Energy Cities Partnership
Halifax is a member of the World Energy Cities partnership, a network of 17 global cities committed to building a lower-carbon energy future and more resilient cities.
